Reflecting Back

In the past two weeks of ISM, I have completed two separate interview assessments. These interview assessments allow us to reflect back on our meetings with professionals and potential mentors and recall important advice or knowledge they have left us. Although we will not meet with many of these professionals more than once, their expertise on the field of study is very valuable and should be put to use. I believe these assessments will be very useful and help us gather what we have learned from these numerous interviews into one place. These assessments will also help us figure out which professionals we would like to pursue as a mentor and continue meeting with.

However, I have found it difficult to meet with as many professionals as I would have liked. I am finding it difficult to find contact information of neurologists, and am rather finding contact information of clinics and hospitals. Usually these calls end in voice messages. Also, once the interviews are conducted, I find it hard to explain the nature of ISM and how the mentorship would work during COVID-19 times.

In order to solve this problem, I plan on dedicating more time to sending emails and calling professionals. I am sure that if I stay persistent I will eventually receive more interview opportunities.
