Putting Things into Motion

In the past week, most of my efforts in ISM have been directed towards practicing the process of making calls, emails, and leaving voice messages. These tasks can be nerve-racking as we not only have to talk to people we don’t know, but also have to try and convince them that we are worth their time. However, by practicing and applying the skills we have learned in ISM so far, this can be made much easier
So far, I have successfully made a custom, professional voicemail. I have created scripts for voice messages I would leave for professionals who do not pick up my phone call. I have created a draft for emails I would like to send professionals, initially. However, the most challenging part was practicing real phone calls with professionals and receptionists. This is challenging as it is hard to know what the other person will say or ask during a call, but what is helpful is scripting and practicing a response for many different possibilities. That way, whichever direction the conversation goes, we have something prepared and do not get flustered.
During the following week, I plan on putting this into motion and contacting the professionals from my contact list. I have about 27 contacts on my list and plan on emailing and calling as many as possible. Hopefully I will soon be able to have a meeting, but if these professionals do not show interest in meeting, I plan on staying persistent while also searching for and contacting other professionals.
