A Much-Needed Trip

Currently in ISM, most of our time is being spent contacting and meeting with professionals. This process can be tiresome and frustrating, especially since most of the calls I am making are going to voicemail. However, by being persistent and staying positive, I am sure I will get a successful meeting soon.
These past few weeks it has been challenging for me to manage my time. With multiple college application deadlines, assignments for other classes, and the burden of virtual learning, it has been hard to spend enough time on ISM tasks. Contacting professionals, conducting interviews, and keeping track of progress can be challenging.
This next week however, I am prioritizing some of my time to prepare for a presentation I will deliver to the rest of the ISM class. This presentation is called the “Quick Trip” presentation and each presenter takes the audience on a trip of their choice. After weeks of individual work, it has been very refreshing to spend a week watching these presentations. In addition to being interesting and a fun topic, there is much to learn from this experience. After each presentation, each presenter receives feedback on what they did well and what they can improve on. I believe this constructive criticism can be very useful and can be incorporated into other ISM activities. I hope that viewing and giving this presentation will improve my public speaking skills and possibly help me with mentor interviews and meetings.
In the next week, I hope to contact and receive more interviews with professionals, as well as grow my public speaking skills from the presentation in class.
